Carl Joshua "C. J." Young (born January 1, 1968 in Waban, Massachusetts) is a former American ice hockey player
Young was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 1989 NHL Supplemental Draft. After four seasons playing for Harvard University in the NCAA, he started playing professional hockey with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles of the International Hockey League in 1990. He made the jump to the NHL with the Calgary Flames for the 1992–93 NHL season. After 28 games with the Flames, he was then traded to the Boston Bruins where he played another 15 games.
In 43 NHL games, Young scored 7 goals, 7 assists, for 14 points.
Young's claim to fame in his college career was scoring three shorthanded goals in a span of 49 seconds during a game in December 1988,[1] the year Harvard won the national championship. Young had five goals in that game all together.
